Restrictions is a series of hollow objects with a shell of three-dimensional shapes that transmit motion, which causes them to look like an organic shape, when they all have the same skeleton but a different shell.

The work on the project began with a study of the possible restrictions on the clay flow, which was done by pushing clay into a fixed shape. Through an understanding of the interaction between the material and the different restrictions, a unique shape was designed, which allows free movement of the clay. As part of the production process, a number of complex restricting shapes were made, each producing objects with unique properties.

The free clay movement allows for a series of objects, which although made in the same way, will each take on a different shape, and there will never be two identical objects.
